General Terms & Conditions

I. General

These general terms and conditions (hereafter referred to as ‘T&Cs’) apply to the electronic ordering of all forms of tickets for Well-Being 2020 Conference. The Well-Being 2020 Conference is a co-operation between STATEC Research, 13 rue Erasme, L-1468 Luxembourg and Observatoire de la compétitivité, 19-21 boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg (hereinafter referred to as ‘Well-Being 2020 Conference’ or ‘the organizer’).

Well-Being 2020 Conference has appointed SIX Payment Services (Europe) S.A., 10 Rue Gabriel Lippmann, 5365 Schuttrange (https://www.six-payment-services.com) as service provider for the ticket payment process of Well-Being 2020 Conference. SIX Payment Services (Europe) S.A. enables the payment of tickets for Well-Being 2020 Conference.

By ordering tickets for Well-Being 2020 Conference, the customer accepts these T&Cs. Any other terms and conditions have no validity.

II. Conclusion of contract

1. Conclusion of contract
When ordering a ticket online, the customer is invited to pay the fee by credit card. The contract regarding the sale of ticket(s) becomes binding when the user clicks “Payment” in the order window. The ticket fee and statutory value-added tax are shown on the screen in the “Order summary” field. Afterwards, Well-Being 2020 Conference will send an email to the address provided by the customer as part of the order. The email contains a confirmation of the order. The confirmation of the registration is the entrance ticket to the Well-Being 2020 Conference event.

2. Admission regulations
Customers are obliged to check received confirmations for errors regarding price, date, event and venue. The customer shall be solely responsible for safeguarding the confirmations and for bringing them with him or her to the event.

Tickets can only be purchased for personal use. Purchase for profitable repurchase (commercial use) is prohibited. An exception is the raffle of tickets by cooperation partners of Well-Being 2020 Conference.

Customers can provide a hard copy. The validity of the ticket is checked at the entrance. A multiple access to the event by duplicated tickets is thus excluded.

Alternatively, the tickets can be saved as a digital version on a mobile. In this case, the digital ticket will be checked at the entrance point.

The customer will receive a badge enabling entry to the Well-Being 2020 Conference for which he or she booked. The badge may not be passed on to other persons. In the case of lost tickets, no claims for a refund of the attendance fee, or for a replacement ticket, will be entertained. The reproduction of tickets is not permitted. The customer is obliged to hold on to tickets in such a way as to prevent any misuse. The customer will be held responsible for misuse of the tickets

In the event that the customer has purchased concessionary rate tickets (e.g. Student Ticket), the customer shall produce the necessary proof of eligibility when entering the event. Tickets are to be presented at registration upon entering the venue.

3. Terms of payment and due date
The customer is invited to pay by credit card.

Payment is due upon booking the Well-Being 2020 Conference ticket.

In the event of late payment or chargeback by credit card, Well-Being 2020 Conference reserves the right, but does not undertake, to withdraw from the contract or refuse participation in Well-Being 2020 Conference event until the outstanding amount has been paid.

4. Rights of withdrawal for consumers
According to Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 – Chapter III – Article 16 (l), the customer will have no right of withdrawal in respect of distance and off-premises contracts, since Well-Being 2020 Conference is the provision of a service related to a leisure activity and the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance.

5. Refunds/No-shows
Refunds of attendance fees will not be entertained in the case of no-shows. However, the customer is free to transfer his or her ticket to another person named by him or her at any time before the Well-Being 2020 Conference starts (please refer in this case to: infoSWB2020@statec.etat.lu).

Well-Being 2020 Conference reserves the right to change speakers and topics. Changes to topics, speakers or venue are also no sufficient reason to withdraw from the ticket purchase.

6. Photographs and recordings
The customer hereby expressly confirms his agreement that the organizer shall have the right to take photographs or make recordings of the customer before and during the entire event, and to publish, disseminate and circulate the same on the Internet, in print media and other media.

The commercial use of own photographs and footage taken at the venues of Well-Being 2020 Conference requires agreement by the organizer.

7. Postponement or cancellation
Well-Being 2020 Conference reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event.

In the case of cancellation of Well-Being 2020 Conference event, customers who have already bought tickets will be notified via email and the entrance fee will be refunded.

In the case of postponement of Well-Being 2020 Conference event, Well-Being 2020 Conference will contact customers who have purchased tickets via the email given when purchasing the tickets. In such cases the customer may choose to attend the event on the rescheduled date or to receive a refund of the attendance fee.

The customer must advise Well-Being 2020 Conference of his or her decision within 14 days of receipt of the information regarding the postponement. Otherwise, he or she has no claim to a refund of the ticket fee.

8. Lost & Found
In the event of having lost an item, visitors can contact Well-Being 2020 Conference via email to infoSWB2020@statec.etat.lu with an exact description of the item.

9. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
Applicable Law is Luxemburgish.

The place of fulfilment and court of jurisdiction, to the extent that this is permitted by law, is Luxembourg city, Luxembourg.

10. Concluding Provisions
Should one or more provisions of these T&Cs prove invalid or contain loopholes, this does not affect the validity of the remaining terms and conditions. The parties will replace or extend the invalid or incomplete provision with an appropriate provision which comes closest to its commercial purpose.

11. Right of Modification
Furthermore, the Well-Being 2020 Conference reserves the right to amend these T&Cs to improve and/or clarify the service provisions or due to changed legal provisions.
